Hand painted sign for Boyd Construction HQ in the Warehouse District in St.Pete, FL. Boyd is a contractor company based in St.Pete with a reputation of quality commercial builds with high standards and attention to detail. Our collaboration included the design and hand painted execution for the building signage.
From the beginning of the project, Boyd had a clear idea in mind. They wanted a bold and impactful sign across the facade to give the building the Boyd personality and reached out to me to make this happen.
I provided Boyd with a custom sign design, inspired by vintage signage, typically found in old warehouses and construction spaces. The large scale lettering and bold look was perfect for this project. The design process included measuring everything with precision to make sure the large scale typography would fit in the space available. In terms of aesthetics, the sign needed to look clean, perfectly spaced out, and balanced with the other elements in the building, like the glass windows.
The execution was fully done with traditional sign painting techniques. The only and right way to do this type of work. All of the lettering was carefully hand painted with black and shows the high level detail and skill.
Measuring a approximately 40ft wide, this sign contributes to the beautiful building design and cityscape.
Kind Words from Boyd
“Leo is not only an outstanding artist, he is extremely easy to work with and master of the craft. In my experience, he was on point with timeline/budget logistics, transparent on all communication and was a pleasure to have around. He created very clean and precise pieces of signage for us - exactly what we were going for. I would highly recommend Leo for any of your signage, display, decorative needs, etc.. He is also a staple to this community. I'm proud to I say that he was the artist who painted our signs whenever asked. I'm looking forward to do business with him again some day.”
