Hi Lettering lover!

Thanks for stopping by. I asummed you’re here because you want to start your lettering journey. Good news! You have come to the right place!

This year I’ll have several lettering classes available in St. Pete and Tampa, FL. I’m teaming with the best local creative businesses to teach at their wonderful spaces. My goal is to have an outlet for you to learn directly with me all things lettering, deepen your typography knowledge and start creating your very own hand lettered work.

My hand lettering classes are all levels and usually around 3hrs long. In each class we start with terminology and lettering basics. You’ll learn about lettering tools and how to use them. Then build your way up to make beautiful letters, compositions and designs. Class projects include drawing quotes, creating greeting cards, chalk wall art and more.

In addition, during class I’ll walk you through my personal lettering process and share tips and tricks from my experience, personal projects and working with clients.

New Work: Hand Lettered Chalk Menu for Love Food Central Cafe.

New Work: Hand Lettered Chalk Menu for Love Food Central Cafe.

Love Food Central is a café serving vegan & gluten-free comfort food located on Central Ave in St. Petersburg, FL. Love Food Central needed to refresh their current chalk menu boards and commissioned me to hand letter 3 menu boards. The menu has a total number of 28 items, which includes their drinks, homemade desserts and main dishes. The boards were hand-lettered using chalk and chalk markers. Using white over the black background for natural chalk look and good contrast. Additional colors were used to fit with the brand system.

New Work: The Kimono Cart - Lettering Logo Design and Hand Painted Signage.

New Work: The Kimono Cart - Lettering Logo Design and Hand Painted Signage.

The Kimono Cart needed a new logo to represent their business. Alicia Gagel, founder of The Kimono Cart and I collaborated to bring her idea to life. My goal with the design was to make brand look special and natural with a focus on uniqueness and hand drawn, vintage and bohemian characteristics. The Kimono Cart is committed to create naturally made products, therefore a hand crafted identity and style was appropriate.

The logo design was hand-drawn, digitized and later painted by hand using One Shot lettering enamel on two wood panels that measure 35" by 25". The panels are going to be used to build the cart that Alicia will be taking to indie and makers markets to showcase and sell her hand made Kimonos.

Hand Lettering isn't Just a Trend. Grow Your Local Audience with Authenticity.

Hand Lettering isn't Just a Trend. Grow Your Local Audience with Authenticity.

Growing your local audience can bring many benefits as freelancer and artist. And doing things with love and a feeling of hand-crafted-ness can get you noticed and—hopefully—shared.

Although there’s never a clear-cut path to connectivity, here’s how I created a custom print for Louisville, which helped me grow my local audience and, ultimately, made a product locals want to buy.
